PUEBLO WEST ROTARY DAY - OCTOBER 3rd

This was truly a testimony to the work of our local club.  October third was declared Pueblo West Rotary Day by both the Pueblo County Commissioners and by the Pueblo West Metropolitan Board. A ceremony commemorating these declarations and honoring visiting Rotary International President Gary Huang was held that afternoon at Civic Center Park.  The backdrop for this event included our Oktoberfest site.  Our own Jerry Martin, a man of many hats spoke for the Pueblo West Metro District and for our club.  Other speakers at the event included the Pueblo West Chamber President, County Commissioner Liane “Buffy” McFadyen, and Governor Hickenlooper.   President Huang toured some of our past projects prior to the ceremony and made remarks at the presentation.  He led the group in the “Happy Clap”.  Our president, Rick Clark presented a check to Pueblo West Parks and Recreation for $10,000 as a contribution for the new Frisbee Golf Course.  This was followed by the ceremonial First Frisbee Toss by the assembled dignitaries.  No one came close to the basket.
